Yesterday was one of the most devastating days of my life. My adoptive family disowned me when I transitioned twenty years ago. This year, I made a fresh effort to reach out and see if there was room for us to mend these wounds. I got word through a family friend that they have no interest whatsoever in ever speaking again. They feel that I made a decision in transitioning, and that is the end of our relationship. I cannot begin to explain how much it hurts to be adopted by family and then thrown away like a piece of garbage, just because I am trans.

In 2016, I owned a wholesale/retail company that sold products on Amazon and had 20 employees. In August 2016, Amazon changed their policies about branded items in it killed my business overnight. We ended up surviving, but after we let go of 19 people. That was the first of many changes that Amazon made, and I realized they did that every 6 to 18 months. Nothing is going to stay the same, and you were going to have to evolve. Change your tactics or die. People are not going to stop using X just because Dom went away. If anything, you will just become a distant memory and someone will replace you - but only if YOU allow that. You got this, but you’re gonna have to re-organize and regroup. Don’t quit. Fight harder.
