To my doomer/panican friends on the right: 1. What's about to go down in Iran is not "Israel's war". Stop playing footsies with antisemitism. This has been our war since 1979. Iran has waged war continuously against us since Khomeini landed in Tehran 47 years ago. Israel may be the Little Satan, but we've always been the Big Satan. Pretending Iran hasn't been at war with us is delusional. It's time to excise this cancer while the cancer is at its weakest strength and while we can. As Sen. John Kennedy said on the Senate floor yesterday, Donald Trump is not starting a new war with Iran. He's ending the war Iran started. 2. Donald Trump/Republican future electoral success will be measured in achievements. If they win at stuff, and win decisively, that attracts voters. If they flounder, get bogged down, or outright lose, it's curtains. Trump has arrayed enough firepower at Iran to make this a relatively quick engagement. Iran just isn't that capable with conventional weapons. After that, the Iranian population desperate for the theocratic boot on their neck to be lifted will finish the job. American voters love a winner, unless they're Democrats or Never Trumpers, a distinction without much difference. A quick, decisive move that topples the regime and frees millions of Iranians to self-govern eventually will be a huge W. 3. An Iran menace that is decapitated once and for all weakens our two remaining adversaries on the world stage - China and Russia. The opportunity to strengthen our hand while weakening our adversaries at the same time is immeasurably in our vital national interest. 4. To those who say our national debt is too high, that we can't afford it, I agree. It is too high. Emboldening our enemies by effectively telling the world we're sitting it out for a while because we've got too many bills to pay will cost us trillions more in debt in the long run. You want to address the debt? Work harder to elect Republicans. They're more fiscally responsible than any Democrat at all levels, and they will put judges on the bench that don't block every attempt Republicans make to cut spending programs. 5. Regardless of whether you're pro or anti-action in Iran, once it's on, support the mission. And if you don't understand what the mission is, it's to remove the number one state sponsor of terror from reconstituting weapons of mass destruction, and if possible, regime change. Yes, we set them back after the strike last summer. They immediately began to rebuild, and what wasn't destroyed is back to enriching uranium to 60%. It's time to end this once and for all. We already have enough Americans here that don't appreciate what this country provides. They're called Democrats. Don't be them.

Venezuela, Iran, Cuba, Greenland, Panama…it’s all interconnected and it all points to China. As U.S. energy ramps up, and China is deprived of subsidized oil, subsidized shipping channels, freedom of navigation through sovereign waters and allies that can cause the U.S. problems…their global position diminishes substantially and their costs of doing business skyrocket. Venezuela and Iran account for something like 20% of China’s oil imports and they’re getting an insane deal on it. China has a huge problem if that oil goes away. You’d be forgiven for thinking Trump’s foreign policy seems random and chaotic, but it’s actually one of the most focused and (thus far) well executed foreign policies in at least 2 generations.

If your entire political identity is just resist at all costs, even when what you’re resisting is the lowest-hanging fruit for common ground - it betrays your true incentives: power over people.
