You will think you know what grief is, until the grief is yours, until it is a grief so personal it changes the trajectory of your entire life.

Remembering the time my dumbass cat snuck out and I chased him out to the alley and he was like evading me and it was late at night and I was worried he’d run off and get lost or hurt. I was chasing him around this car mad as hell and then suddenly we heard this noise and both

Also, Caning in Kenya was legally introduced in 1906 by colonisers through " Police Ordinance of 1906". They had to import the canes though. The Ordinance can be found in UON repository. Someni historia yenyu tafadhali.

This is exactly how Africans started beating their children. Before colonisation, most communities only had physical punishment for adults. Not kids. But colonisation changed the stakes. A wondering child could be shot by colonialists. So beat the kids to keep them alive

My fave Kenyanism word: Rada? Depending on the context it could mean WTF? It could mean “seriously?”. It could mean “what’s up?”. It could mean “the hell’s wrong with you?” And you can understand it by the tone someone uses when saying it, and I find it so beautiful.

On this day, 18 years ago, on 12 May 2008, I published my first article in the @NationAfrica challenging the injustice of odious debt. I argued then, as I do now, that debts incurred against the interests of the people cannot morally or legally be imposed on generations that never consented to them. Africa must stop begging for relief from debts designed to enrich a few and impoverish millions. We must audit, question, repudiate, and prosecute where necessary. Odious debt is not development. It is economic capture. The struggle continues. #DeniBandia #ReKe #OdiousDebtKe

Andrew Ochieng’ could not find Luo books to teach his daughter the language so he wrote them “Wapuonjre Dholuo.” So proud of him for doing this for the culture. Inyalo nyiewo ka in Kenya kata loka. Nyithindi ong’eyo Dholuo?

Some months ago, Alpha was loaded into a container in Mombasa port (F1). Months later, Alpha lands in a new country (and continent), ready for the first fueling(F2), the trails (F3) and friends (F4) This is how the plans went.... #Thread #AlphaLandrover #BreakingBorders
