New “VTubers” debut with heavy NSFW models and immediately push subs, PPV, and lewd content instead of building actual streaming skills or lore. The cute idol/waifu culture that made VTubing special is getting drowned in low-effort coomer bait. Talented SFW creators get outpaced by those who just sell thighs and moans. The barrier to entry dropped from “be entertaining” to “have a sexy model and an OF link in bio.” The audience is shifting too. Real fans who loved the hobbyist energy are leaving, replaced by people treating every VTuber like premium camgirls with extra steps. VTubing is becoming less about virtual performance and more about virtual OnlyFans with better production value. We’re losing the soul of it.
