The phlebotomist yesterday was making small talk with me, and I said “it’s been unusually cold this week”. And I asked her why she didn’t just check the weather app. And she just laughed. I have spent a good part of my career just getting people to believe this was actually happening. Now we are here. With 15 drones, you can lose roughly 1/4 of the B-52 force as it sits idle on the ground. This was always the most concerning scenario. Time to move to hardening. Just a matter of time now till we learn the hard way.

6/ I’ve heard Jack Straw thousands of times and after 50+ years one simple word gave it a whole new meaning. Once in a while you can get shown the light in the strangest of places if you look at it right. End

1/ I was listening to a very early version of Jack Straw and a one word change in the lyrics gave me a whole new perspective about how the song is constructed. The word is “You”

5/ Finally, Jack has had enough and the narrators sing “Jack Straw from Wichita cut his buddy down.”

4/ Shannon keeps getting them in trouble ( I just jumped the watchman”) They are running for their lives and Jack fed up (“Ain’t no bed can give us rest now, you keep us on the run.”)

3/ Jack and Shannon are two outlaws on the run talking to each other. When everyone sings as a chorus, it’s the narration (“Leaving Texas 4th of July…”)

2/ The version is an early one where Bobby and Jerry trade verses. Bobby sings the verse as “YOU cut down a man in cold blood, Shannon. Might as well be me.” So what’s really going on is a dialog between Jack and Shannon.
