@James1847564104 @Angry_Staffer @santafe7000 Confirmed death here in U.K. But importantly, you don’t die a few days after testing positive, you get sick, you need hospital treatment, you get sicker, you need high dependency care, you then recover, or you don’t. It takes time. Numbers in U.K. are crazy, US will follow

This. Exactly this. Even if Omicron is less severe (we don’t know that yet), but more transmissible than Delta (we can seem to confirm that), it still equals thousand and thousands of deaths among the inadequately protected. Get your booster.

One of my biggest worries is that people will hear "less severe" (if that proves true) & not take this thing as seriously as they should (particularly when coupled w/ Covid fatigue). Europe's explosion in cases is very concerning – no reason to believe that the U.S. won't follow.
