My friend asked me to join her in visiting her boyfriend. Could you believe a grown man's fridge is empty and my friend seems less bothered about it. Look at these pictures. See how our people from the North are sleeping on the streets of Abuja after travelling for the APC national convention. Politicians gather our people like animals, put them in buses, bring them to shout slogans and fill the crowd. When the event finishes, they dump them on the streets like they don’t matter. Grown men travelling hundreds of kilometers only to end up sleeping on the ground in Abuja because of politicians. You will hardly see the Igbo people allow themselves to be used like this. Sometimes I feel ashamed. Our people defend these politicians every day, but the same politicians treat them worse than animals. If we continue allowing this humiliation, then we should stop complaining about bad leadership. Politicians only treat us the way we allow them to treat us. ©Ibrahim Kabiru
