On stage, the Liberal Party of Canada brings out Patrick Pichette, a former senior executive at Google, who now lives in Europe, to suggest that Canadians who want to pursue opportunities in the United States should face an exit tax of $500,000.
Half a million dollars to leave your own country.
This, from someone who once left Canada himself to build a career in the U.S. and paid virtually nothing to do so.
So let’s be honest about what this is.
It is not economic policy. It is not nation building. It is control.
A government that has mismanaged the economy now wants to limit your ability to seek opportunity elsewhere. Instead of creating reasons to stay, they are looking for ways to make it harder to leave.
You do not grow a country by locking people in. You grow it by giving them a reason to believe in it.

I come across SO many people. They're in my inner circle, semi-inner circle, outer circle, at the gym, fellow parents, people who text the show - I've never had one interaction, let alone conversation (not one - not this year, not last year, not at thousands of Ajax doors), where someone even mildly opined "Canada should join the European Union". Not the most sane person, not the most loony person, not the person that is indifferent to Trump, not the person who despises Trump & can't focus on a single other important thing.
I've not had one 10 second convo w/ anyone about Canada joining the EU. So I have no idea who these people are.....deadly serious.

the biggest waves of immigrants flooding into Europe came from Iraq, which America invaded in 2003.. from Libya, which NATO bombed into a failed state in 2011.. from Syria, which America destabilized through a decade of proxy wars.. from Afghanistan, which America occupied for 20 years and then abandoned the moment it got inconvenient.. America created the refugee crisis and handed Europe the bill..
then there's the "$200 billion helping Ukraine" line.. America sent weapons and loans.. Europe absorbed 8 million Ukrainian refugees, opened their borders, and rebuilt entire communities from scratch.. Ackman counted the weapons.. not the people..
and then he said Europe has "no progress or innovation in AI.."
ASML is a Dutch company.. they manufacture the only machines in the world capable of producing advanced semiconductors.. every Nvidia GPU that powers every AI model Ackman has ever invested in exists because of a European monopoly.. without ASML there is no ChatGPT, no Claude, no AI race.. Europe doesn't just participate in AI.. Europe literally controls the factory that makes AI physically possible..
and the man making this argument is the same billionaire who made $2.6 billion betting against the market during the pandemic while the rest of the world burned..
without a single Dutch company, Ackman's entire AI investment thesis collapses overnight..
but sure.. Europe isn't innovating.

Europe is on a path to destroying itself. Unchecked immigration of millions of immigrants that burden their welfare states, bring violence and terrorism to their shores, and take over local governance, one city at a time. The "naked mom theory" is a social media term for the parenting idea that moms being casually naked (or topless) around the house normalizes real adult bodies for kids.
It supposedly reduces shame/taboo, promotes body positivity/confidence, and gives kids (esp. sons) a grounded view of women's bodies beyond media/porn ideals—seeing post-kid changes, stretch marks, etc., as normal.
Tied to relaxed/Danish/Euro family norms and blowing up on TikTok from stories like Ilona Maher's. Not everyone agrees it's healthy.
