wow turned off my phone for the holidays and people are still freaking about o3! it’s not AGI and we have a whole lot farther to go. get excited for future models because this train is just getting started, seriously.

Watching a kid learn to ride a bike. Always fascinating. Show me a humanoid robot able to spontaneously learn to control a machine like that, with minimal supervision and instruction and do it in a few hours. We don’t need fancy benchmarks to understand we are nowhere near AGI.

Pattern recognition is memorization & recall of previously observed patterns. Intelligence is about dynamically composing new patterns from "primitive" or "atomic" composable patterns. Pattern recognition is more surface-level & rigid while intelligence is deep & flexible.
Matthias Heger ⏩@modelsarereal

Intelligence is the ability to * learn patterns * recognize learned patterns in new data * use learned patterns to solve new tasks * discover new patterns (based on known patterns and new data) General Intelligence means There is no limitation to the kind of patterns

Here is my advice, and I can’t be any more forceful about it: if you are considering joining a PhD program - DON’T!!!

Hello world 👋 We're excited to introduce ourselves. For the past year, we've been quietly building and researching. Today, we're sharing our mission. At Plurality, we're working on making intelligence work — i.e. intelligent systems that can perform autonomous labor. While AI today relies on top-down modeling with global error, we're developing systems that achieve intelligence through fundamentally different principles of interaction with their senses, making them no longer artificial in scope. We call this ‘autonomous learning’ — local, private adaptation akin to true sensory-motor and mental understanding. We're making intelligence work in the real world. If this mission excites you, we're hiring for all technical and research positions. DM or email (careers@) us your resume and evidence of exceptional ability, and we will respond within 24hrs. We will share more about our approach and early results in the coming months. Follow our progress here on X.
