@AVFCchats Kane’s situation shows having the release clause is a good idea, no? Agree that Grealish is very tone deaf in the interview and did not handle the situation well but I think you can both believe in the project and have a release clause. Situations change quickly in football.

I think I talk for most fans when I say that I’m not mad about Grealish leaving, players are allowed to leave Villa, but it’s the way he hid behind ‘My club’ and saying he ‘believes in the project’ when in reality he pushed for a release clause and bailed as soon as possible.

They should absolutely think it over. But keep in mind it also wouldn't be a bad idea to try to make Montreal *think* they were going to take him, then see if Bergevin would be willing to cough up some assets to change their mind. Could make for an epic game of chicken.
