Do you think Alex Verdugo will be dealt this offseason? I still believe there’s another gear for him to reach. Especially if he focuses on getting more athletic/gets his defense back on track. Feels like Yoshida is a very similar hitting profile though.

@middlebrooks How do you think the new pickoff rule will affect Whitlock? From my POV, his tempo drops considerably as a starter, which lessens his effectiveness. He’s high/low, and if you give an MLB hitter time to reset their eyes, they can beat you. Is holding ‘em on holding him back?

Not a colossal mistake at all. I do like him in the pen, but switching him back and forth during the season is why he didn’t get super locked in as a starter. It’s a mentality thing as much as it is physical. He has a full off-season to prepare for this and to get healthy.
