So... you don't know how historical evidence works? Cool. The four gospels were originally written in the 1st century, as eye witness testimony. The reason we know this is evidence is because of the incredible amount of copies. Many others, who Jesus preached to, healed, pre and post resurrection, spread all of their stories orally. And yes, claims of Jesus walking around after death were investigated by the pharisees and sadducees. They were never able to provide any evidence to the contrary. And if they could, I guarantee we would know about it. The DSS contain no gnostic manuscripts. Apocryphal and Enochian manuscripts are not gnostic texts. Apocryphal texts were deemed by the councils to be un important and not worth putting in the bible. The enochian texts were removed from most bibles because it was never written by Enoch. The Books of Enoch are considered to be Jewish mythological fanfiction, that show up about 200 hundreds years before Christ. Done by multiple Jewish scholars who were trying to interpret vague texts within Genesis. Gnostic texts show up much later, and all have been proven to be forgeries. Including the ones that influenced Islam.

@danielekp0 First two season's are bangers. Season three had the animation budget of a potato. Then the story shifts from 1000 year Holy War conspiracy to the power of friendship bullshit. What killed this show was not the animation, it was the story. I still love it, but I gotta be honest.

It is. 5000+ Greek manuscripts all dating from the 1st century to the 10th century, all agreeing with each other to an incredible degree. All for a random Jewish carpenter in a time of high illiteracy. Writing was done by a select few, and biographies were reserved for very special people. Alexander the Great has only a few manuscripts, two of them are from his personal propagandists. Not to mention other Jewish and Roman writings at the time talking about Jesus, not in a good light either. For anything 2000 years ago, thats a disgusting amount of historical evidence. It should also be mentioned that Jewish culture wasn't big on writing. Most of the stories in the Bible were taught orally. Which makes the amount of documentation we have even more incredible.

Correct. I can't prove anything, because to prove means it cannot be another way. But the evidence is that the gospel is historically reliable. Thats just a fact. And TAG backs up the case for God. Metaphysical concepts that govern the laws of the universe that are all unchanging and all work together implies a designer.

Oh come on, this is just aethiest cope. Yes it is the case that civilizations of the past had some crossover in ethics, culture, and mythology. So what? We have found no evidence of direct influence, I don't give a shit what the epoch of Gilgamesh says. The new testament has been thoroughly proven to be historically accurate. The question becomes whether or not you think Jesus was who he claimed to be.

Really? The best argument you have against me is that a small group of evil people invaded churches and the faith so they could pray on the weak. And because of this, Christianity Bad? I got news for you, the rates of child abuse and sexual assault are not in your favor if we wanna make red herring comparisons. The fact that you were kicking the shit out of these Christians you were arguing with blows my fucking mind. Under the aethiest worldview, those things wouldn't even be bad. It would just be society doesn't like that, which would be an appeal to majority fallacy. Christianity says that on a transcendental level, its evil.

And vipers eat their young, and dolphins are serial rapists. Are those things good for humans to do? That's a categorical fallacy you're making. This whole conversation sucks by the way. The parable of "do not judge" is not commanding Christians to not judge, that wouldn't even make any sense. If I saw someone trying to commit a murder, should I not stop it because I would be judging the actions of the murderer? "Yeah, I would stop the murderer, but who am I to judge? He can do what he wants." Yeah fucking right. Mathew 7:1-6 is about hypocrisy. It simple turns, do not say "you ought not do thing" when you believe thing is totally fine for you to do. Mathew 7:7-12, which I believe you also mentioned, is about how to treat people, sure. If I'm doing something wrong, that is harmful to myself, I would want someone to help me stop. What is loving is correction, its not loving to let someone destroy themselves or others. Spiritually or physically. The trans and LGBTQ community are guilty of both. So when we say "hey, this is wrong," that's the loving action. Another note, the whole God is nonbinary bullshit. Technically yes? Because the ontological nature of God and his personhood has zero biological physicality. What is true is that God is not a thing, and that he has personhood. Hebrew and Greeks didn't have genderless personable pronouns. But, because God has authority and leadership as part of his nature, he used male pronouns to describe himself in the old testament. When he sent his Son down, he sent him as a male. When the Son referred to God the Father, he used male nouns and pronouns. To claim God is male would technically be wrong, sure. Also because God has plurality in his personhood. But it wouldn't matter, because in all cases where he revealed himself to humanity, he called himself Male. If you wanna argue with Christians, maybe learn about the faith first, in fullness. I pray you come into the faith. And if you actually have a problem with it, fine. Go on and debate. But the fallacious Texas sharpshooter arguments are getting old.

A 6-year-old boy was found floating unconscious in a Florida pool. Seconds later, an ICE officer jumped in to save him. ICE law enforcement officer Gregory Simmonds spotted the child in distress in Pasco County on May 16 and immediately pulled him from the water. The child wasn't breathing, and Simmonds began life-saving CPR at the scene until the boy regained consciousness. Local authorities say the child is expected to make a full recovery, a rescue DHS is calling an act of bravery.
