@conor64 There are cheap hotels and hostels on Santorini. And everyone goes to that spot in the video to see the sun go down and we're doing that 30 years ago. You don't have to stay in some fancy hotel or be rich, I went a couple years after I graduated from college and was making 25k

I regret to inform you that reproductive biology is slightly more complicated than the Fisher Price version of science you seem to be operating with. Women can be born without uteruses. Women can lose uteruses to cancer. Women can have hysterectomies. Women can stop menstruating decades before death. A uterus is an organ, not a philosophical litmus test for womanhood. Plenty of women do not menstruate. Plenty never could. Who knew biological science was being rewritten by people whose understanding peaked in middle school health class.
Riley Gaines@Riley_Gaines_

If you don’t have a uterus, you cannot have a period. The fact this even has to be seriously said is a condemnation of humanity.

@feelsdesperate Great speech today but she is usually says just the opposite about Barack, that he was too busy and she was a single mom for the most part, that she gave up her career. Also being in the WH sucked, that she was criticized endlessly. She doesn't make parenthood seem fun either.

Michelle Obama is an interesting character because until the past couple years she had very high favorability and polled very well. She can deliver a speech excellently and she absolutely would have had a path to the presidency if she was a happy warrior who didn’t come off as bitter and aggrieved. For whatever reason she couldn’t manage the baseline requisite of keeping her grievances and anger private. Very odd set of ‘choices’ and it’s unclear what any of it has gotten her. She’s a very puzzling figure.

The abuse and murder of Preston Davey is nauseating. Those responsible are vile beyond words. This horror must not be weaponised against gay parents: the vast majority are loving and caring. The issue is how middle-class ‘respectability’ can shield abusers from scrutiny.

Everyone's consistently getting mad that this is happening, but it's only because the world has gotten immensely richer. And too many of these travel-obsessed types are middle-class ppl cosplaying as wealthy bc they can "travel the world" now. You are just not rich enough to /actually/ escape the crowds anymore - that's why you're upset. You've been clocked as middle class, you are getting a middle class experience, and surprise, you don't like it.

I can't believe I actually need to explain this to another grownup, but for starters, crosses and bible verses are overt religious symbols while pride hats aren't. Honestly, I think a lot of people fundamentally misunderstand the point of pride night: by wearing the hat, you're not abandoning your own religious convictions and you're not trying to convert anyone to a particular lifestyle or belief system; you're simply showing support for a historically marginalized group of folks by saying that it's okay to be yourself and that a person isn't inherently worthless just because of who they are. It's really not asking a lot, is it? And if you aren't lucky enough to have gay friends in your life, you should get some because (a) you'll have more visibility into the shit they deal with on the regular and (b) their weddings are always 10x more fun.
Jeff Stanek@JeffStanek1

For everyone who's got a problem with the MLB players writing Bible verses on their hats during their team's Pride Night game, I've got another scenario for you. An MLB team decides to have Christian Night at the Park, and requires each player to wear a hat with a cross on it, rather than the team's logo. What's your response?

Sarah isn’t a good person but having your baby taken from you and given to two paedophiles who raped him to death is a nightmare I wouldn’t wish on anyone. Anyone calling this her karma is sick. Preston wasn’t a pawn to punish his mother. He was a human being.
Laura Perrins BL@LPerrins

Victim Impact Statement from Sarah Davey, Preston Davey's birth mother. "Preston Paul Arlo Davey was perfect from the moment he was born. The second he was placed in my arms, I fell completely in love with him. He was my baby, my only son, and from that day on I never wanted to let him go."For the first seven months of his life, I was lucky enough to spend precious time with him. He had the most beautiful smile, one that could light up any room, and the bond we shared was something everyone could see. Those memories should have brought me comfort—but instead, they are now mixed with pain, because I know what you put him through in his final months." "The day he was taken from me was one of the worst days of my life. I had no choice in that decision. I tried to take some comfort in believing he would be safe, loved, and protected, and he was with his foster parents, Sandra and Paul, I trusted them, they and the system trusted you, that trust was completely and unforgivably broken. Preston was innocent."He was defenceless. He relied entirely on you—the adults responsible for him—to love him, care for him, and keep him safe. Instead, you caused him suffering. You took away his chance to grow up, to go to school, to make friends, to live a full life. You took everything from him."

#AngelinaJolie says her “fighting spirit is finally back” after her divorce: “I lost it for a bit. I got kind of taken down a little bit and it’s coming back in large part thanks to my children, who are now older, and encouraging it,” she tells Variety. “My kids are almost all 18, so now they want to see me traveling the world, they want me to get out and do things. They know me more than anybody, and they still like me, which says a lot. I think they’re very encouraging of me kind of getting back to aspects of myself that maybe I hadn’t felt as free to do.” variety.com/2026/film/colu…

@MeghanMcCain These summers aren't coming back the same way. You can't just let children roam around anymore and the parents don't feel comfortable doing it. Was it fun for kids in the 80s? Sure, and often boring, but parents are just not that negligent anymore, they are dare I say less naive

Every mom I know is striving to give their kids a "90's summer" of no screens, pools/playing outside most of the day, just overall extreme focus on simplicity and family. It is a great thing to do but also a really sad referendum on the times were living in.

@ShayWoulahan It isn't literal. You just couldn't come up with up with a story where a woman who tortured someone to death, has their kid tortured to death in the future, and also doesn't seem to understand that the feelings she has are the same as her victim's family.

My mom cried on her birthday because I waited until 5:30 PM to call her. Yeah, you read that right. I'm 30, she's 74. I finished work, picked up the phone, and wished her a happy birthday. To me, that's a normal evening call. But she was so upset I hadn't called or texted earlier that day, she actually started crying on the phone. Now I feel like the absolute worst person for making her emotional on her special day, but I'm also really taken aback by the whole thing. Was I in the wrong?
