Part of why I am so torn between the Northeast and the Southwest is that they are total antipodes. One is wet, geriatric, overtaxed, 'heavy', dark -- the other is dry, young, low-tax, 'light', sunny. And frankly, I've got a massive pile of savings. A once-in-a-lifetime pile of cash I've worked years to build. We're on our first baby, and I know that if and when the second baby comes, we'll really be in for it. I know that inflation is gonna eat at this pile of cash. I've got the freedom to choose here. Stay in the Adirondacks, move down to the Mohawk Valley of NY, or pull up the stakes completely and go to West TX / NM / AZ (where America's future really lives). But I've got one shot. One choice. Once I make the choice, it's over, I've gone and done it. The future of my family hinges on the choice I make. There are no take-backs. I know that once baby #2 comes, we're likely to stay wherever we're at. So it's a "hot" moment in my life. Gotta make a choice. Gotta pray about it. Heart says go Southwest, to the future, to youth, to warmth -- brain says stay here, with the past, with the elderly, in freezing temps. Lord help me.

Russia should be more worried about China on its eastern flank (plenty of historical precedents to justify this concern) - aligning with the US is in Russia’s interest, and the US has an interest in countering China through a US-Russia alliance. This puts Europe in the nutcracker and their open hostility towards Trump may actually precipitate this.

I’ve warned Europeans about this before, but if the US stops seeing Europe as a partner to help contain China, it will go looking for a different partner to support. Maybe a large country that borders China, with nukes and oil. The worst case for Europe isn’t merely a neutral US.

McCormick should obviously recuse, but for slightly different reasons than everyone is saying. I actually believe she probably didn’t intend to “like” the post. Yes, it’s possible she’s so technologically oblivious she doesn’t understand that people can see her likes. That seemed to be the case with Laster when he liked bad stuff before. More likely she probably fat-fingered the button while enjoying scrolling some anti-Musk content. But that’s exactly the problem. Her pathetic excuse that LinkedIn attached a fraudulent “like” is absurd, similar to when celebrities post something bad and say their account was hacked. The broader issue is that we’ve now seen multiple instances of Delaware judicial officers goofing around on LinkedIn and showing an appearance of bias. Laster had to have an intervention last time. It’s time for McCormick to finally face some consequences. The two of them are a liability to Delaware.
