I think the reason this scene in particular is so disturbing is that during it Ryan finally understands what it was like to be Becca when this monster forced himself onto her.

Why did Thragg care that the emperor died to the point of treating his skull with so much attachment when it’s been shown that Viltrimites regularly kill each other if their weak? Even parents kill their children. He should have celebrated Thaedus.
