One surprise from being in the courtroom: The DOJ prosecutor said the idea to include $ for policing and immigration enforcement in the settlement came from Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton's office.

A United-American merger would be so obviously, cartoonishly bad for consumers, I can only assume it’s a ploy to make another move (like United acquiring JetBlue, for instance) look reasonable by comparison.
Or it’s just Kirby playing dirty tricks on his former employer.

STATEMENT: The Court granted the Department's request for a fourteen-day administrative stay while the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals considers the Department's appeal. The Department will seek an emergency stay from the D.C. Circuit to preserve the security of the Pentagon during the pendency of the appeal.
