Most mid-career professionals have a Plan B in their heads. Almost none pull the trigger. It's not fear, it's friction.

@eurofounder This is like satire, right? Even if you take into account the value of a dollar vs euros, $320k is way more than €58k Also, you can work somewhere and then quit - jobs aren't life sentences.

Two years ago my son got a job offer from Anthropic $320k base salary, $200k in stock options at the time While my family was celebrating, I pulled my son aside “Son, you need to decline this offer. Those stock options aren't real, it's fake money American companies print so they don't have to pay real salaries” “But dad, this can be one of the biggest companies in the world, I can be worth millions” he argued with me I burst out laughing “Biggest in the world? It's an overhyped AI company that nobody knows in Europe” I said He went silent “Siemens, Allianz, Lidl. Those are companies you need to work at, if you want to build a real career” I added Two years later, my son works at Siemens in Munich making €58,000 a year, real cash I don't know what happened with that Anthropic business, but in Germany nobody has heard of them yet It will probably be bankrupt soon like most American startups I'm glad I saved my son from the biggest career mistake of his life

The job search month-by-month breakdown nobody talks about: Month 1: Strategic, optimistic Month 2: Adjusting, still confident Month 3: Loosening standards Month 4: Applying to things you wouldn't have looked at in month 1 Month 5: Paralyzed or desperate Month 6: Something has shifted in you The antidote isn't resilience. It's a better system, started earlier.

As someone who lived through the Millennial boom, they, too, were called lazy. When they were 18-22 and joining the workforce, there were articles and stories dedicated to learning how to manage them. The cycle repeats. But you're right to point out that life doesn't pay you back 1 to 1 for what you put in. A lot success relies on where you start.

Gen Z isn’t lazy. They watched Millennials do everything right. Got the degree. Took the internship. Worked the entry level job for three years. Hustle cultured themselves into burnout. And still couldn’t afford a house. Still couldn’t pay off the loans. Still got laid off over Zoom. Gen Z just refused to repeat it. They didn’t inherit laziness. They inherited the lesson.

I DID IT! I posted my first blog on the @RoleNavigator website! I delayed, I procrastinated, I asked my friends, I slept on it, I ate about it, then I finally built the tool that could help me ideate, and made it live! Check it out. Link in comments. New blogs weekly!

Founder support has been awesome to see lately on X. I keep finding apps I want to follow, support, and tell people about, so I started tracking them on my Builder Radar. This list will definitely grow, but these are a few I’m actively watching right now. Why "overqualified" rejections happen: Hiring managers fear you'll leave in 6 months. Counter it proactively: → Name the concern directly in your cover note → Give a specific reason tied to THEIR company, not your situation → Quantify your commitment: what you'll build in 12 months Pre-empt the objection before they use it.

The layoff news is very disturbing! Jobs are not safe, things are getting costlier. It’s getting tougher to survive in this economy!

Some of you take these jobs way too seriously 😭. Why are you snitching on coworkers, skipping breaks, coming in on your days off, and refusing to use your PTO or call out? Especially for jobs with little to no room for growth.

Job hunting, applying, and waiting drains you. What if new jobs were sent to you, scored by fit? Then your resume was customized and ready for you to apply? Save your energy for the interview.
