Why "overqualified" rejections happen: Hiring managers fear you'll leave in 6 months. Counter it proactively: → Name the concern directly in your cover note → Give a specific reason tied to THEIR company, not your situation → Quantify your commitment: what you'll build in 12 months Pre-empt the objection before they use it.

The layoff news is very disturbing! Jobs are not safe, things are getting costlier. It’s getting tougher to survive in this economy!

Some of you take these jobs way too seriously 😭. Why are you snitching on coworkers, skipping breaks, coming in on your days off, and refusing to use your PTO or call out? Especially for jobs with little to no room for growth.

@catalinmpit The people being laid off are in positions they are eliminating. Even if they hire back that position - you were never part of their future

These companies are doing big layoffs, but have job openings on their website. Why?

Day 8 building my first iOS app. Working on UI is actually more challenging than I thought it would be. Any font requests?

Job hunting, applying, and waiting drains you. What if new jobs were sent to you, scored by fit? Then your resume was customized and ready for you to apply? Save your energy for the interview.

Unpopular opinion: Entry-level jobs should require 0 years of experience.

Hiring in 2026: - Hire smart people. - Pay them well. - Leave them the fuck alone. You win, the product wins, the customer wins.

Maybe we consider the idea that we work to live and not live to work. So, working from home allows folks to do that. Maybe we should think about how rich the people are that we work for and how little we all really get in the first place. And doing a load of laundry is just an "ok" benefit. Jobs where you have to be there to do the thing - those make sense. Jobs where you drive an hour+ to go sit on a virtual meeting with other people in other buildings they drove to in other cities - a ridiculous waste of time and money. No one can convince me otherwise.

If you work from home, you shouldn't get a full salary since you're basically Babysitting your own life on company time. If you have time to start a load of laundry between meetings, you’re technically a part-time employee.

Hiring for dev jobs was low, but I see it increasing. Are these fake jobs to create engagement?

@ColonialGrit Like, it’s insane. I sent literally hundreds of applications to “normal” companies and was autorejected from literally all of them.

Civil servant here. If Farage wins the next GE, he'll call us all back to the office 5 days a week. The CS will then be on the verge of collapse, as thousands of people will either retire immediately or quit, due to the removal of WFH. Cheap optics will meet reality.

@YakaFortune Exactly. Job requirements are the first hurdle of applying, because many of them are not "required"

Job hunting fatigue is a real thing, because what do you mean, you can send hundreds of applications get silent treatment, and a handful of rejection emails. And don't forget positions being withdrawn or frozen.
