Opinion & analysis on war in South Asia

Geopolitics for a country is like cocaine; gives you an instant high, confidence and that feeling of taking over the world, but it is almost always followed by a crash. Governance reforms are like going to the gym and working out. It's controlled pain, muscle breakdown, and recovery, a painstakingly slow process, that progressively builds strength over time. It gives a stable high and long term benefits. Great nations are built through reforms, and ruined through obsessive geopolitics.

We are concerned by reports that the Pakistani authorities may be pressuring Waqas’ family following reporting by @DropSiteNews If true, this raises serious concerns about press freedom and fundamental rights. We urge restraint and adherence to the rule of law.

By conspiring to let American ships pass through the Strait of Hormuz under the Pakistani flag, Pakistan has betrayed Iran. This disgraceful move reflects the policies of PMLN and the military leadership under Asim Munir.

Trying to explain to my daughter why Pakistan has bombs for Afghanistan but not for Israel is proving to be difficult.

Does Pakistan have any Corps HQ, PAF airbase or Naval base with a drug rehabilitation center inside it? Asking to understand for myself. Maybe a small clinic to treat soldiers, but what other medical facilities are inside military bases?

Why did Pakistan have to bomb an ammo dump in a city? There is no war-ending target in Afghanistan which must be bombed at all cost. Civilian deaths will breed resentment against Pakistan and increase public support for Taliban regime
