@su11yboy @camwardszn No they dont. Theyve only been awful the last 30 years, out of the 80 theyve existed. Theyre also 17th in win percentage (solid given how long theyve been a team) and they have, aside from 4 AAFC titles, 4 NFL Championships. As well as 3 AFCCG appearances.

So they deserve to be on the same tier as the team that sent them packing from the AFC Championship every time they were contenders? Also today's NFL & the pre-merger NFL are not the same league. They may have kept the name but they are different and as such distinguishing that is fair. If the original post had been about Professional football in general or a pre-merger NFL tier list then you could make an argument they belong where they are in this list, maybe even higher.

@camwardszn And don't even mention the Patriots, they WERE the laughing stock before Brady. They had 7 playoff wins from 1960-2001, 3 of those coming in one season. In that period they made the playoffs only 10 times.

Yeah, at some point you have to take into account the fact that it’s been 60+ years since they’ve accomplished anything and during that time have been one of the league’s biggest laughing stocks for a multitude of reasons. I promise you if the pats went 6 decades without playoff success and fucked up as many times as the brows have, I’d say the same thing about them too.

@camwardszn My dude they were a good team through the 60s and early 70s, then were a consistent playoff team in the 80s, making the AFC Championship 3 times in 4 years. Success isn't measured by just titles.
