I thought a good product would sell itself. It doesn’t. Week 1 of building in public was a reality check I wasn’t ready for. 3 impressions on my first post. Nobody visited the product page. Zero newsletter signups on day one. I had spent weeks building something I thought people would find. They didn’t find it because I hadn’t done the work to put it in front of them. Marketing isn’t something you figure out after the product is ready. It runs alongside it from day one or you lose weeks finding that out the hard way. The product also needed more work than I was willing to admit at the time. Week 1 humbled me. Week 2 has a plan. What assumption cost you the most time when you first started?
