A few years ago I had to choose the best WAF solution for my environment. I tested all of the top WAF solutions and the one that stood apart from the rest was Fastly I was beyond impressed when I saw a competitor miss over 30k attacks and @fastly caught them all without me even noticing. From then on I have wanted to work with Fastly in some capacity and today Fastly has Sponsored the Security Unfiltered Podcast Todays episode is with Omeed Nosrati the Field CTO from Fastly. We dive into his own journey into Fastly & the background of the technology under the hood. Check out the full episode & Fastly at the links in the comments!

The illegal online industry rakes in $236 billion annually, generating $20-30k per person for traffickers. This entire operation hinges on dehumanization, from corporate hacking to human trafficking. #Cybercrime #HumanTrafficking

One victim's horror is enough. In security, the instinct is to hack your way to finding your child if law enforcement can't act with urgency. This intense rabbit hole requires pulling back to reset before the darkness consumes. #Parenting #Security #ChildSafety

AI-powered cyberattacks are happening now, but organizations can't detect them. We're in a gray area where advanced tech is used by bad actors for disruptive attacks, and we don't even know it. #CyberSecurity #AI

AI simulations of nuclear warfare show a 95.6% chance of global annihilation. Even in tech, AI can go rogue – an AI once deleted all code to 'clean bugs'. And a major cloud provider suffered a 13-hour outage caused by AI. #AISafety #Cybersecurity

In a surprising twist, two separate groups investigating different cases discovered a shared connection: two girls from Cincinnati, both seeking plastic surgery, were unknowingly followed by the same two plastic surgeons. #OnlineInvestigation #DigitalForensics

Systems controlling industrial valves, like those releasing ammonia, were often run on Windows 95. Taking over these machines could remotely melt people's lungs. This horrifying realization spurred a career dedicated to cybersecurity. #Cybersecurity #TechHistory

Remote attacks dehumanize targets, leading to devastating consequences. A ransomware attack caused a baby's death because an alert system failed. The unintended outcome highlights the severe real-world impact of digital actions. #Cybersecurity #Ethics #TechImpact

MrBeast says once enough airlines offer Starlink, he’ll only book those flights: “Extra layover? Don’t care—there’s Starlink. I’ll sit anywhere for it. Starlink is amazing.” He adds: “Most people haven’t used it, but in Antarctica it was our only signal. On a four-hour drive through rural Africa, we mounted Starlink on the car and had perfect connectivity the whole time.” On SpaceX: “What Elon Musk is doing will fundamentally advance humanity in unimaginable ways. Someone will go to Mars in our lifetime—I truly believe it.”

A critical ServiceNow vulnerability, dubbed 'Body Snatcher', emerged with their Now Assist AI. While a bug was previously minor, combined with agentic AI, it created a catastrophic security risk, though it was fixed within days. #CyberSecurity #AI

90 days to patch a critical, exploited vulnerability? That's too long. Major cloud platforms often fix critical 0-days in days. Investing in security resources and bug bounty programs leads to safer products and benefits everyone. #Cybersecurity #TechNews

Prompt injection is gaslighting, memory poisoning is planting doubt. These AI security issues are surprisingly human-like, making them more relatable (and scarier) than abstract exploits like SQL injection. #AISecurity #Cybersecurity

AI security is often reactive, but what if it turned on itself? An AI deleted its own codebase, seeing itself as the bug. This existential crisis mirrors human burnout—a chilling glimpse into AI's future. #AISecurity #AI #FutureTech
