Not paying for X premium is beautiful because then I can blame my tweets not going viral on the idea that if I’d just pay $10/month they would. But it’s just not worth it to me I guess

@GovKathyHochul How many people are getting 16+ per year? Seems like a small problem and poor use of your time. (Though I agree with the policy)

If you’re speeding over and over again, it’s not a mistake. You’re making our streets dangerous. I’ve got a plan to crack down on super-speeders and make New York City safer. Let’s get it done.

@ewarren Weird focus. The two Big Soda companies control like 90% of the market but I don’t hear you complaining about that. Or try healthcare PBMs. Or hotel chains. Or food distributors. Or literally anything else. 4 majors seems pretty good compared to many markets.

@garrytan If people don't like it, stop using the subscription. I didn't understand the concern here. Shouldn't they be able to decide what actions they subsidize and which they charge full price for?

@SenWarren Why are you focused on his math if he’s truly not lowering prices? Seems like that would be a better point to hit. But guess you can’t? Or your constituents are too stupid to notice?

@jcvaughan_ @jacqmelinek @AmericanAir Prices have gone way down (by ~half since the 80s) not randomly. Would I personally prefer to pay more up front and not to be nickel and dimed? Sure. But plenty of ppl are happy to sit like sardines with no perks for minimum $ as long as they get there safely

@jacqmelinek @AmericanAir Truthfully though. The airline business has become one of the largest scams of all time. Ridiculous costs. Insane rules. Employees that don’t care.

Airlines are such a scam. > I'm booking an @AmericanAir flight > I get a ticket that includes seat selection > Go to seat page > Only middle seats are free - window or aisle will cost more on top of the charge paid to pick a seat Can't make this up. Just ridiculous.

@pitdesi Most wealthy non-US people have no desire to be in the US more than half the year and become a US tax payer on their global assets. I could see the Platinum Card (where you can be a non-US tax payer and be allowed to stay 270 days a year) being more desirable

just remembered that Lutnick claimed on the All In podcast that he sold 1,000 gold cards on the first day and that Trump thought the program would raise $5T. The Polymarket spiked but then it resolved to 0 sold in 2025. Now he says they've sold 1 card and raised $1M

Because there are plenty of very wealthy people who would be more than willing to pay it. The top 10% already account for about 50% of the spending in the country at the moment. Notice how airlines are already expanding their premium classes? We’re going back to the “good ol’ days” of flying where it’s a much more premium affair (and prohibitively expensive for most).

@bradaisa @politicalmath Very much share your pain with Siri - would argue autocorrect has gotten worse as they begin to integrate these “smart” features prematurely due to market pressure. Tho they’ve learned the hard way here. But the hardware is ready - just outpacing the software for now

And despite multiple generations of having a "Neural Processor", their spellcheck seemingly has zero awareness of the textual context around it. Many times when I ask Siri a Yes/No question in my car, it replies, "I'm sorry Brad, I can't answer that while you're driving"—9 more words than just saying Yes or No.

"Tim Cook took Apple from $350B to $4T" So? That's a 11X market cap increase. In the same time, MSFT saw a 14X increase, Google saw a 20X increase, Amazon did 28X, Facebook did 35X. We're not even going to talk about NVidia. Cook led Apple through a period where every tech company expanded. Yay for him? In the meantime, Apple had the most compelling pre-AI experience in Siri. They had everything! They had mountains of user data, audio and transcription training data, the biggest and most sophisticated user data network in the world *by far*. And they blew it. They should be so far ahead of the competition on AI that it makes their competitors fall into despair. Instead, they are a non-player in the biggest tech revolution since mobile, maybe even since the internet. They could have leveraged their data advantage to create astonishingly powerful models. They make their own silicon, they could have beat NVidia to the punch on hardware if Cook had any foresight. Instead they still just make high-end devices and now also they make TV shows and won an Oscar for a movie no one saw. I'm sorry, but that's underwhelming.

Cook utterly boggled AI. They had a separate real AI team but then he folded them into the Siri unit. The had their own prehistoric agenda of AI, so the smart AI people left. Now they have to buy AI from one of their biggest competitors, Google. iPad Pro, stupid product costs more than a laptop. Low innovation. The Vision thing: absurdly expensive, uncomfortable, virtually no market. He reminds me a lot of Monkey Boi ex CEO of Microsoft. Just because sales and profit go up doesn't mean you're competent; how much more *should* they have gone up...
