The 2023 election was interesting because it was the 1st in ~60 years to announce the official % "yes" voters (99.9%), not just turnout (99.63).
I'd hoped that might signal the first step toward multi-candidate elections, sadly wrong.

The US right is FAR more violent than the US left.
Right-wing perps committed 91% of political killings in the last 20 years. White nationalists alone did 38%.
Even if we include anti-police killings by non-leftists, "the left" did just 8%.
Exclude those? Only 12 deaths, 3%.

The fact is that Charlie Kirk was murdered by a left wing militant. And that’s far from the only act of brutal violence by a leftist even just over the past year. In response, there hasn’t been any kind of major nationwide crackdown on leftist extremists and the organizations that fund and encourage them. There hasn’t been any concerted response of any kind. It just hasn’t happened. But don’t worry: Democrats will take power and do to us exactly what we didn’t have the focus or fortitude to do to them. The whole thing is enraging.

@DK8675 One caveat: That CSIS graph includes all "attacks" (including 0-death) and "plots". Most leftist "terror" are purely attacks on property.
But yes: Leftist political killing has increased. That's bad! Rightist political killing has hugely declined. Unclear why. But that's good!

Not true: The vast majority of leftists & rightists have no thirst for death.
Roughly 2% of people, left or right, support political killings. (Surveys with higher numbers have the Pew Nuclear Submarine problem.)
