@workertenant Both Our Revolution and the Working Families Party have dues-paying membership, locals, and regular events? I don't take "mailing list" estimates -- the number I estimate (contributions divided by average dues rate) is very similar to historic estimates of IWW & other mass orgs.

@ArmandDoma Neither CA or NY is governed by progressives, but all Dem states should follow the evidence on education. Phonics works, holding failing students back works, additional years of schooling works. Ideally states should strip education from locals and set up a technocrat board.

It should be a deep and profound shame for progressive California and New York that deep red states are now serving Black students far better than they are

Quite a lot of the progressive worldview is just simply not true. One wonders what percentage of progressives are aware of this and still believe it anyway. That’s possible. There are aspects of progressivism that are based on a particular weighting of various trade-offs and that don’t really require that you believe things that simply aren’t true; but what is that — like, 5% of progressives?

@Cenizo75848 Gender identity, like sexuality, is a very-low malleability trait. People are "stuck" in their identity. Why should we force people to identify as their (relatively malleable) body over their (relatively non-malleable) mind?

@Cenizo75848 Problem: Gender identity is NOT very malleable. - Neither therapy or same-sex hormones revert cross-sex gender identity. - The vast majority(>95%) of people in any identity (including those in cross-sex identities) remain in the same identity 20 or 40 years later.

@krichard121212 @VexedVortices @Allodoxaa I've argued that we might be able to avoid abuses via hypermajority sortition: For any gene in question, the state assembles a panel of 1000 people with that gene variant, prompts debate & discussion w/ medical experts on call, and if >80% vote yes, the gene may be removed.

It's time for the left to open ourselves up to non-authoritarian forms of eugenics, especially the more socialism we do. Stop letting the bigoted far-right hold a monopoly on the application of population genetics to sociology.
