Polymarket could become the biggest airdrop in crypto history. They recently enabled fees on most markets, meaning revenue could soon rival — or even surpass Hyperliquid (especially during major events like the World Cup). $HYPE reached a ~$60B FDV at its peak and is now sitting around ~$40B. Polymarket is reportedly raising at a ~$20B valuation, so $POLY could realistically launch in the $20-30B FDV range. At a 5-10% airdrop allocation, that implies a $1B-$3B airdrop. So becoming a top 2-3% user on Polymarket only requires ~$50 in capital and one month of effort. People think they’re late to Polymarket — but the data says otherwise. If you think Polymarket introducing fees is a bad move, you are genuinely dumb. Everyone knew this was coming because Polymarket couldn't rely on VC money indefinitely. Also, the fee structure isn't even bad. Lower fees than Kalshi and no fees on makers, ONLY on takers. In contrast with Kalshi, Polymarket is rewarding market makers with rebates, while Kalshi charges fees on makers too. I really think this is bullish for Polymarket. Less wash trading and nonsense volume farming for the upcoming confirmed $POLY airdrop. More market makers because it's not worth it anymore to be a taker, which will increase open orders in markets and eventually improve liquidity. Polymarket will probably increase LP rewards too now that fees are introduced, which will drive even more volume. Feels like this is only bad for arbitrage strategies and bots.
