This is unbelievable!!! Suddenly, the $METAL coin is displayed at the top of my wallet…! That can only mean one thing…! That it is the most valuable coin that I possess! MW is not playing around! I had to check the interaction and what did I just found out? Look at the last three activities! 😏 After having bought some metal twice, I just received an incredible amount of $METAL! 😳 I’m am… Beyond words. @FlagAndFire I’ve done all of those things…10/10. And yet, I’m not really ‘country.’ Only made short visits to the South, and all cities. It’s just called living life. Definitely don’t listen to modern country music, ever.

I’m so glad that I grew up in a time when we didn’t know alcohol was so bad for us (even when consumed moderately and responsibly).

Tim, I’m with you. It was the second full time beer we released, and one of my favorites! I sure do miss it as well. From time to time Stone reproduces beers from the ‘archives.’ I don’t know when or if Stone Smoked Porter is being considered (I retired three years ago, so not as in the loop any more).

@StoneGreg Greg, your Stone Smoked Porter was my favorite of all Stone beers, even buying your book (signed, thank you!) to get the recipe for your smoked porter. Any chance it’s brought back by Stone as a seasonal? I miss that beer terribly!

Dude. I GET IT. I cut my teeth on Rogue. I remember the time when original brewmaster John Mayer visited us at our original brewery in San Marcos…it was a BIG DEAL to me! I remember founder Jack Joyce (with whom I always had a fond and convivial relationship) grumbling to me that if someone sent him a bottle of Arrogant Bastard Ale ‘just ONE more time!’ 😂 I was sad to hear of the brewery’s closing. End of an era.

@StoneGreg Thanks for sharing that. You have a wonderful story. Now, maybe find some help/deep pockets to resurrect Rogue. I'm literally crying about the collapse of an Oregon institution.

Oh, man. I’m guessing you’re meaning the best album that’s not Metal Warrior - The Crushed Souls of Our Enemies. Certainly it’s inarguably the best album TITLE ever! 🤘😎 Anyway, I’m searching my brain to work to give you a legit answer to your question. Sorry though, I can’t. There are so many greats. It’s just like the “what’s the best beer” question. Impossible to answer! The only valid answer is explore explore explore!

2 specific reasons: you weren’t the best fit to lead Stone (Soporro was though?) and because you just wanted to move on to something new. Which is great. Except you didn’t sell to Indy. It’s who you sold to, and 3 years on Stone ain’t what it used to be. Soporro wasn’t right.

Thanks for that. All good. I get it…for my entire career at Stone I was used to people saying “you don’t make xyz beer any more, or you stopped distributing it to my area.” Only natural that people would continue to say things like that. The answer is still the same: breweries like making and selling beer that people buy…if people buy enough, xyz beer will continue to be produced and distributed! I can tell you that during my time Kris at Liberty Station had near complete autonomy, and that today he still does. The whole idea of that 10bbl brewery is to NOT be ‘the same’ but to constantly change it up. Anyway, thanks for the convo…looks like you’ve got a few great nuggets to open up and enjoy over the holidays. They aren’t getting any better! Cheers!

@StoneGreg I would like to apologize for being rude. Stone was better with you. I’m a troll yes, but I met you in Reno a few years back. Own/read your book. I used to hunt your beers. Now, they don’t produce/distribute the same. Even Liberty Station’s menu isn’t the same. I miss old Stone
