When I knew I was making progress?
June 2025, I couldn’t buckle my flight seat without an extender(was embarrassing asf) and it was a long ass flight.
March 2026, I flew to Owerri and I buckled my seatbelt easily without an extender or bothering any of the air hostesses 😅
I didn’t realize how much of a difference that little thing made till it happened and I gave myself an inner hug.
I’ve been occasionally catching myself giving words of affirmation to me. People were unkind to me so much last year. People hurt me, betrayed me, cheated me, said nasty things to me… but I think I was the most unkind to myself.
So, lately I catch myself saying “I love you so much, Ada. I’m gonna take care of you. You’re so beautiful and you deserve nothing but the best…” and for the first time in a long time… I really do mean it.
Shit I’m tearing up, okay I’ll shut up now… Byee

The funny thing about the pain management brouhaha is that Nigerian doctors and nurses are the biggest babies when it comes to pain. Have you tried cannulating your fellow healthcare worker or do a wound dressing for them? I once cannulated a nurse and I swear she started crying because I missed it the first time. We can always do better for our patients in terms of pain management. Pain is no joke.
