Silicon Valley recently hosted a gathering of technology leaders, policymakers, and members of the Syrian American diaspora to discuss Syria’s digital and economic transition. At the SYNC Iftar, these conversations brought together voices from across the technology and policy communities exploring opportunities around Syria’s evolving digital and economic landscape. SAAPP was pleased to participate in the dialogue, which included a ministerial delegation from Syria’s Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, led by Minister Abdulsalam Haykal, alongside representatives from the U.S. public and private sectors. 📣 It is now official. The NDAA has been signed @POTUS and the Caesar Act has been fully repealed. This is a moment Syrians have awaited with patience and resolve. It represents a long-delayed opening for relief, reconstruction, and the gradual revitalization of Syria’s economy after years of strain. We express our profound appreciation to Senator Jeanne Shaheen @SenatorShaheen and Congressman Joe Wilson @RepJoeWilson whose leadership and persistence were central to achieving this outcome.
