Congratulations to our COA Member of the Month! Director of the Western Bone and Joint Institute and Associate Professor at Western University, Dr. Matthew Teeter advances imaging and digital technologies to improve mobility and quality of life after joint replacement. His research integrates CT-RSA, weight-bearing CT, PET/CT, and radiomics to assess implant fixation, bone quality, and inflammation—bridging engineering and clinical practice to guide surgical decision-making and implant innovation. His leadership and contributions have been recognized nationally and internationally with distinctions such as the CIHR New Investigator Award, the Coventry Award from The Knee Society, and the Neer Award from the American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons. A Past President of both the Canadian Orthopaedic Research Society (CORS) and the International Society for Technology in Arthroplasty (ISTA), he continues to shape the field as a member of the COA, The Knee Society and the Canadian Arthroplasty Society (CAS). Congratulations on this well-deserved recognition and thank you for your outstanding impact on orthopaedic innovation.

Excited to share that Rebecca's paper describing RSA inducible displacement measurements with weight-bearing CT (WBCT) is now online! WBCT is going to be a valuable tool in orthopaedics, and WBCT-RSA is a new and better way to diagnose loose implants. doi.org/10.1002/jor.26…

Excited to share that Jen’s paper comparing CT-RSA to conventional RSA for inducible displacement measures of femoral stems is now online. A great collaboration with Bart Kaptein in Leiden. We will be using this in many studies now. onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/jo…

Component-on-component impingement in total hip arthroplasty may lead to post-operative complications like dislocation. This study validated a novel radiostereometric analysis-based impingement metric to measure component-on-component impingement in vivo. doi.org/10.1177/095441…

Great thread by Ravi highlighting cutting edge 7T MRI in MSK. So much opportunity for Western to leverage our existing strengths once there’s a full body 7T in CFMM. Can even pair with 4DCT next door in CenTRI and really study joints in full. We have teams ready to jump on this!
