Show me a teacher who, while not qualified through study, but has years of experience, has never said “That kid is/has…” All this holier than thou crap does my head in. We know we’re not qualified but we’ve met 1000s of kids & can have a professional opinion based on experience.

I've got 26 teachers watching me teach whole class reading tomorrow, and I'm excited because we are knee deep in the incredible 'When The Sky Falls' and I get to dig into my favourite question of the whole book. Cannot recommend this book enough for Year 6.

Can't be bothered watching this so can't comment on the content. However it takes some special confidence / arrogance to post a video of how brilliant you think your own teaching is.

It is my belief that it is possible to teach most people how to teach within about a term or two. The simple fact is that our educational training infrastructure does not achieve this in the great majority of cases, and generally substantially overshoots that time frame.

Anon post: I’m currently a senior teacher in a small primary school (7 years primary experience ) . I regularly act up and take responsiblity for the running of the school. I am keen to pursue small school headship and am applying for my first one. I wondered if anyone has any advice for what to include in the application?

I keep going on about how amazing my school is.... how we do things based on values and love but backed by research....how we use tech that is pertinent for our children and focus on key strategies (no scatterguning here ...we teach the Braunstone Way!)...how staff are treated as humans as well as being trusted as professionals.... You don't have to take my word for it...why don't you come and see it ... visit Braunstone Community Primary School on the 13th of February .... or other trust Schools on other dates (👀 at the poster attached)!
