Sasha, surely by this time you know the paragraph in TBC summarizing our view on genes/environment. It is the sum total, EVERYTHING, that TBC claims about the role of genes. It's highlighted in the relevant page. How does your post pertain?

@avidseries Based on your ideal, you should check out northern New Mexico (Albuquerque, Santa Fe, etc.)

The only above option I would never consider is the first one. The other three all seem desirable in their ideal forms. But that walkable big city neighborhood might have more nearby urban dysfunction than I'd like, that small town possibly no one I'd have anything in common with, and driving a half-hour to the grocery or hardware store gets old when you live out in the middle of nowhere. My ideal, though, remains a house out in the middle of a semi-arid landscape with mountains in the distance.

Which is your preference?

@avidseries In the mid-west, there's a fifth option which is my favorite. It's the rural area that is near a good-sized city. You live in a wooded area on lots of land, but all the amenities are within a 10-15 minute drive. It's like a suburb, but much more spread-out, wooded properties.

@Heccles94 Strawman much? Elon wouldn't do any of those things because they'd be pointless and destructive. Everything Elon is doing is visionary and productive. In fact, that's exactly how he became a trillionaire.

Would it be good for the world for one man to own a million homes all for himself? No. Would it be good for the world for one man to buy tonnes and tonnes of food, far more than one man could ever eat? No. Would it be good for society for one man to buy up all the medicine and keep it for himself? No. Billionaires are not good for society. Trillionaires are not good for society.

Karmelo was in a place he wasn't supposed to be. When some kids called him on it and asked him to leave (15 times!). He felt "disrespected", so he threatened them--while having his hand on a hidden knife. After enough time, Austin "lightly shoved" him, then Karmelo immediately plunged a knife into his chest. Sorry, that's not even close to self defense.

Black people have the right to defend ourselves.
