The annual #TrafalgarSquare #Trafalgartree lights switch on, with @MayorofLondon, @LM_Westminster, Mayor of Oslo, #AnneLindboe and of course the @TrafalgarsTree @trafalgartree. As is the tradition, it rained heavily, but was lovely. Mulled wine now! Pic set at Alamy Live News.

The first Trafalgar Square Christmas tree, 1947.

This is the Trafalgar Square Christmas Tree before & after its settling & its "hair transplant" (they hammer extra branches into the gaps to even it out - an impressively symmetrical job). The lighting ceremony is this Thursday at 5.30pm.
