Regardless of the outcome tonight, this season has been insanely fun and crazy.
Learning to love the Mammoth, getting to know so many Mammoth fans, It’s been so much fun to be a part of something like this.

Although it was highly questioned at the time, the Timberwolves’ trade for Rudy Gobert made them a legit contender, while the Jazz turned those assets into three core players:
Minnesota: Gobert
Utah: Walker Kessler, Keyonte George, Jaren Jackson Jr., 2029 1st (top-5 protected)

They decided to punt on building on that and went on a fire sale to start a rebuild. 3 of the top 6 players on the T'Wolves 50 W teams came from Utah

The "3-2-1 lottery" proposal, named to represent the number of lottery balls per team, would expand the lottery from 14 to 16 teams. Teams that do not qualify for the playoffs or play-in tournament but stay out of the relegation zone (spots four through 10) would receive three lottery balls each.
Teams with a bottom-three record -- the relegation zone -- would have just two lottery balls but have a floor of the 12th pick while the rest of the 13 lottery teams could fall as far as the 16th pick.
The 9th and 10th play-in seeds in each conference receive two lottery balls each while the losers of the 7-8 play-in games receive one lottery ball each.
In addition, no team would be able to win the top pick in consecutive years or be able to win three consecutive top-five picks. Teams also would not be able to protect picks in the 12 to 15 slots going forward.

Mike Conley, Rudy Gobert, Joe Ingles and the Utah Jazz were up 3-1 on Nikola Jokic, Jamal Murray and the Denver Nuggets in the 2020 playoffs. But Denver came all the way back to tie the series at 3-3. And then in Game 7...
With 30 seconds to go, the score was tied 78-78, when Jokic backs down Gobert for a righty hook that put Denver up 80-78.
But somehow the ball found it's way to Conley for this buzzer-beating pull up 3 for the win that rims out. I think Mike would tell you that might have been the low point of his career.
There's something fitting about Conley, at 38 years old, out of nowhere, moving back into the starting lineup with his team up 3-1 on Denver. I think an earned shot at redemption.

31 players defended 200+ isolations this year. Rudy Gobert ranked #1, allowing 0.77 points per iso. Evan Mobley was 3rd & Bam Adebayo was 5th to give some context for the company he's in. Gobert a more complete, dominant defender now than when he won his 3 DPOY in '18, '19 & '21.

Chris Finch said he thinks it's a joke that Rudy Gobert was not even named as a finalist for Defensive Player of the Year this season. Gobert was asked after the game if that snub gave him more juice in tonight's game. "No extra juice. I know who I am. Not the first time I get disrespected, probably not the last. I'm gonna keep being myself. If they wanna disrespect greatness, take it for granted, whatever, sooner or later they'll realize the impact."
