@JonEForeman @RBrookhiser I read through Marie Arana's excellent biography of Bolivar a few years ago. I showed it to my brother-in-law's wife who is from Colombia. She looked at the book with interest, but then she immediately regarded it with disdain once she found out the author was from Peru.

@EcoTradeoff @RBrookhiser There are places in San Antonio, Houston, El Paso, Corpus, etc., where Spanish is all you here. Now places in Austin are that way. It's beautiful. Try surfing the radio dial in Houston. Of course America is Hispanic. It couldn't be otherwise. It's Anglo too, but that will fade.
