@UnbreakableRWYA I think that comes from the fact that finding a shark in the water is vaguely rare. So, its way to tell folks there's a threat in the water.

You know, there's one phrase I've never understood. "Shark infested waters" That's literally their home! You don't call a city a "human infested city". Humans are dumb.

Okay so, rewatching the anime series again made me notice something when Ash and crew went to Bill's lighthouse. On the lighthouse doors among all the Pokémon carvings, there was a carving of Mewtwo. Mewtwo wasn't canon to the series and as we all know, Mewtwo was created by Giovanni and Team Rocket. So how would Bill have known of Mewtwo's existence? I have two theories: 1. Bill worked on Project Mewtwo, not knowing he was working for the evil Team Rocket, once he discovered he was, he fled and is now in hiding. 2. Bill is secretly evil and is working for Team Rocket as a double agent.
