"Christ will be honored in my body, whether by life or by death. For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain. If I am to live in the flesh, that means fruitful labor for me. Yet which I shall choose I cannot tell." Philippians 1:20-23 I love how he speaks of choice here.

People will attack monks for meditating all day and not contributing to “shareholder value” or some other useless metric, but the world would literally collapse without advanced spiritualists. They literally hold up the substrate of reality with their consciousness.

@UndawntdObsErvr They are not a sect of Christianity, they are an offshoot led by wolves. If an innocent child was raised to believe the propaganda and lies LDS leadership promulgates, they would be wise when they become adults to search for the actual truth about their cult's history.

Mormonism is bait and switch Christianity. It's all based on deception. For example, they use biblical vocabulary that sounds familiar to believers, but redefine the terms. Here's a short list of examples: (Jesus): Creator God in the flesh. The author and perfector of our faith. Unique. Holy. (Keeping it short.) (Mormon Jesus): A fictional version of the biblical Christ who loves visiting America, is the spirit brother of Lucifer, and was extremely racist until 1978. (Testament): A covenant promise between two parties. (Mormon Testament): A testimony. (Zion): Jerusalem. (Mormon Zion): Jackson County, Missouri. (Gentile): Other than Jews. (Mormon Gentile): A non-Mormon. (Endowment): Spiritual abilities bestowed upon Christians to accomplish God's purposes. (Mormon Endowment): A ceremony within a Mormon temple that prepares the participants for exaltation in the afterlife. (Deacon): Highly experienced church leaders who take care of the physical needs of the church. (Mormon Deacon): Twelve year old LDS males. (Elder): Highly experienced spiritual leaders of the church who preach and teach. (Mormon Elder): Eighteen year old LDS males. (Seminary): A Bible College for future church leaders. (Mormon Seminary): LDS indoctrination for school-aged children. (Children of God): Those that do the will of God. Israel was chosen as the natural children of God and Christians are adopted into the family. (Mormon Children of God): All humans, both righteous and wicked. Heavenly Father procreated each in the pre-existence. (Atonement): The spotless Lamb that was slain at Calvary is a once and for all sacrifice for the sins of the world. (Mormon Atonement): Christ's prayer in the Garden of Gethsemane. (Prophet): Infallible spokesperson for the Lord. Signs and wonders accompanied their ministry to prove they were sent by God. (Mormon Prophet): One who speaks presumptuously for the Lord. A false prophet who leads people astray. (Apostles): Walked with Jesus during His ministry on earth. Constant signs and wonders proved they were appointed by God to establish the early church and write the New Testament. (Mormon Apostles): Mere business men who side quest as LDS leadership. (Anti-Christ): False prophets, the Beast of Revelation, and anyone who denys the biblical Christ. (Mormon Anti-Christ): Anyone that does not confess that God has sent Joseph Smith, and revealed the everlasting Gospel to and through him, is Anti-Christ. -Brigham Young (Heavenly Mother): A pagan goddess named Asherah. (Mormon Heavenly Mother): The wife of Heavenly Father who gives spiritual birth to everyone on earth. (Angel): Powerful and intelligent messengers of God that are completely distinct from mankind. (Mormon Angel): Resurrected dead people. (Melchizedek priesthood): Jesus alone. (Mormon Melchizedek priesthood): Baptized Mormon men eighteen years and older through the laying on of hands. (Aaronic priesthood): Males specifically from the tribe of Levi. (Mormon Aaronic priesthood): Baptized Mormon males eleven years and older.

These silly MEMEs are a common theme we see from our Calvinistic friends, but this is nothing new. Long before MEMEs I recall illustrations and jokes being employed to belittle anyone who suggested man was merely metaphorically sick when it came to their inherited nature from the Fall of Adam. Back when I was a Calvinist I often used the old illustration about the Lifeguard. I recall preaching, “He doesn’t merely throw you a life preserver and allow you to grab on, but he dives in and drags your lifeless body off the bottom to breathe new life in you.” I’d conclude with something like, “We weren’t just drowning, we were dead! We were born corpses, not merely sick!” That’ll preach, won’t it!? I certainly thought so. But is this what the Bible actually says? Or is this just a popularized catch phrase use to propagate a systematic dogma? Hear me when I say this… When I mocked the metaphor of sinners being sick, I was mocking the inspired word of God and so are all Calvinists today who continue to propagate this misnomer. The fact is that the scriptures metaphorically address our condition as a sickness far more than as deadness. (Jer 17:9, 23; Mk 2:17; Lk 5:31; Mt 9:12; Ps 38:3; Is 64:6; etc) And when speaking metaphorically of deadness it’s never described as a morally incapacitated condition from birth due to the Fall, but instead as a condition of being separated from God by our own rebellion. For instance, the Prodigal was “DEAD/lost” then “alive/found” demonstrating that the term “DEAD” is idiomatic for “separated by rebellion” not “innate moral inability” (Luke 15:24). Just as our soul is separated from our body when we die so too sinful humanity is separated from God by his rebellion.  Look what James taught, “When tempted, no one should say, “God is tempting me.” For God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does he tempt anyone; but each person is tempted when they are dragged away by their own evil desire and enticed. Then, after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, gives birth to death.” – James 1:13-15 Are we born “DEAD” according to James? Or is DEATH birthed in those who sin after its “full grown?” What did Paul say? “What shall we say, then? Is the law sinful? Certainly not! Nevertheless, I would not have known what sin was had it not been for the law. For I would not have known what coveting really was if the law had not said, “You shall not covet.” But sin, seizing the opportunity afforded by the commandment, produced in me every kind of coveting. For apart from the law, sin was dead. Once I was alive apart from the law; but when the commandment came, sin sprang to life and I died. I found that the very commandment that was intended to bring life actually brought death. For sin, seizing the opportunity afforded by the commandment, deceived me, and through the commandment put me to death.” – Romans 7:7-11 Are we born “DEAD” according to Paul? Or was it through the commandment, after “sin sprang to life” that DEATH came? In contrast, the metaphor of illness is quite prevalent throughout the scriptures: “For while we were still weak, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly.” -Rom 5:6  “The heart is more deceitful than all else. And is desperately sick; Who can understand it?” -Jer 17:9 “And hearing this, Jesus said to them, “It is not those who are healthy who need a physician, but those who are sick; I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners.” -Mark 2:17 “There is no soundness in my flesh because of Your indignation; There is no health in my bones because of my sin.” -Ps 38:3 “For all of us have become like one who is unclean,
And all our righteous deeds are like a filthy garment;
And all of us wither like a leaf,
And our iniquities, like the wind, take us away.” -Is 64:6 We are sick and in need of a Physician. We are cursed and in need of His cure. That just biblical, and should never be mocked!!

@Heidel_bro1563 Our hope is certain but seeing as though no one alive is dead, nothing is perfectly certain regardless of the doctrine you wear. You need the love of the Savior expressed by faith to receive grace, and your hope follows like a wedding train.

My thesis is simple: if you tell students for 10 years that they are the generation that’s going to change the world, that they have to give it their all, and that they may need to die for Jesus, don’t be surprised when they go down extreme paths.
