I think it became way more open about 10 years ago. 2011ish started the shift, the rise of social media, smart phones, occupy wallstreet. 2015 or 16ish is when I noticed it’s just openly accepted now to call for the murder of your political opponent. I think both sides do it, but it didn’t start with conservatives.

From 2020 to 2025 abortions are up 21%. In 2020 there was 930,160. There were 1,126,000 abortions performed last year. 2024 there was 1,124,000. Despite the pro life movement getting everything they want by overturning Roe, abortions are up. To me, If the pro life movement wants less abortions the path is clear. You have to have pro life policies and not be just pro fetus. Paid family leave, child tax credits, universal day care, access to birth control etc. When families and mothers have options and support ppl are less inclined to get abortions because they have help and options. We have to invest in our citizens. The pro life movement has been an utter and complete failure. Not only when it comes to decreasing abortions but by also creating a giant divide in society as one group of people thinks it's ok to take the rights from others. Turning our women into second class citizens and essentially just property of the state. Take the Adriana Smith situation in Georgia that happened last year as an example of that. Just horrific. And it's not even like the pro life movement is even rational. Some states don't even allow exceptions for like rape and incest (you sick fucks) and Texas even has bounty laws. Which is a law that allows private citizens to sue anyone who aids or abets an abortion. Talk about freedom huh? Some shitbag Karen pretending to love Jesus prying into people's personal lives for a payout. Absolute lunacy. The pro life movement is the absolute worst.

She was 10 weeks pregnant when an ultrasound showed this rare but fatal condition. Acrania kills babies within minutes or days of birth. Louisiana’s abortion ban contains a general exception for fetuses that cannot survive outside their mothers’ wombs, however, if your condition is not on the list, you’re shit out of luck. She was sent home and told she had to carry to term. Nancy subsequently had to travel from Louisiana to New York to receive the medical care she needed. This is not pro-life this is inhumane.
