We at WESTACT have few things to say about the West England Mayor's Vison for Public Transport. 1/

pressreader.com/uk/western-dai… So, the West of England is behind smaller European cities, in terms of mass transit and it has really poor bus services. While we wait for trams, better buses would be a great boost the region's economy, wellbeing and to fighting climate change.

Even if trams & better rail are part of our future, we'll still need better buses. We believe franchising is the way to achieve this. The WECA Mayor talked about having greater control over our buses but refuses to take any steps towards franchising. Why?? 11/11

Even just improving frequency of services on existing lines could make a difference but there could be even more. 10/

A quarter of our car journeys are under 2 miles. When more people cycle, everybody wins.
