I’m illiquid (never selling) time poor (i give all my life to startups) and the work that makes me feel most alive is helping founders one-on-one so I’m pivoting slightly from angel investing to doing more advisory arrangements If you feel like I’m the type of person you want in your corner for life, and you think you have something you’re building that I will want to be part of for life. let’s talk. otherwise, the number checks I’m writing is slowing down somewhat.

I have this general philosophy that when I see someone I admire in public I generally will not interrupt them to say hello. its weird, but I assume that if I'm supposed to meet them our paths will cross when it is time. Mad Dog is easily the highest ranking US official to ever serve from my home town. I've seen him once before in the airport but he was busy arriving / talking to an aide and I was departing. I didn't say hi then. but I said to myself: if I run into him again I'm going to say hi. today I'm sitting at the gate and he basically walked right up to me. meeting him the weekend before my first trip to DC since I was 17... feels like a sign.

I checked if babies who were born via C-section had higher IQs in the big dataset from 1959-74 that I just digitized (the NCPP). It turns out, they did not. In fact, cross-sectionally, they had somewhat lower IQs, and within families, the direction reversed, but it was null:
