@moirathemaori I can smell ants but don't like diet coke. Maybe it's the smell? :-)

@emily_barr Good thanks. It's currently with an agent (full MS) so waiting to hear...
English

@emily_barr Ooh - yes please! From your CBC class of 2022 :-)

@stellerarts They clearly missed out on the debate, maybe it expired... From one #immodestwomen to another :-) theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/2…

@zenahitz I thoroughly enjoyed your last book "Lost In Thought". It was a comfort during the lockdowns and I have recommended it to all colleagues and friends. Thank you! Looking forward to reading "Religious Life".

Amid everything going on in Aotearoa, I'm happy to announce I've started working remotely for @WHO in Cambodia 🇰🇭, Lao PDR 🇱🇦and Viet Nam 🇻🇳. Lots to learn. Great to join your teams, @WHOVietnam @WillSealNZ @northorbit @shanefairlie! 🙏🏽

@jamesheathers I can imagine. Going from freelance writing and editing (where I demanded to be paid appropriately) back into academia I repeatedly asked: "so you keep my copyright, and you don't pay me, hmmmm..." and now "so I'm going to peer-review this for you, as a precarious scholar... :-)

This is such a good piece by @jamesheathers I am laughing, and crying, and laughing... crying again.

I missed this when it came out, but I fully support the proposition of paid reviews. Editors are struggling. Contract, casual and unemployed academics are struggling. The 450 Movement by @jamesheathers link.medium.com/OBhXHN9gqxb

@MerrimanEileen @kangaroos991 Re: American Psycho I wasn't the biggest fan but read it in school so who knows what I'll think now - will be keen to hear your thoughts over coffee when you get there :-)
English

@WritingAnthro @kangaroos991 I haven’t read the Scarlett Letter either. Um, perhaps American Psycho?
English

@MerrimanEileen @kangaroos991 So weird | serendipitous (simultaneously): just finished @ariel_gore thought provoking | life startling "We Were Witches" and she runs through The Scarlett Letter in detail. I now have to read it and can't believe I haven't come across either text (WWW or TSL) previously!
English

@MerrimanEileen @kangaroos991 Ditto. Not the Scarlett Letter though. What was your 'going to read now I know it is banned' book :-)
