@_FrSmith @christian_state @Sensus_Fidelium Looks like it was only priests distributing so that’s not really an issue, but it’s certainly not in step with the liturgical theology emphasized by the NO, ironically enough.

Correction Update Ok, the original link about this event was click bait. The Bishop didn't refuse communion as he never even distributed. He sat there. (& I'm no fan of Bishop Martin's ideas, but we have to be honest). The priests said they didn't see the family. I know of one of the priests and he's legit. If he said he didn't see them I believe him. Others told me the exact same thing. Before Easter lots of people were going to the rail. It was just recent that an announcement was made to not use it and even then there were people using the rail. So even in this situation others wanted to do it but didn't. The family in the video go to the rail every week. Again, others said this too. Nothing was stagged. Just usually more than one family is at the rail.

@Sensus_Fidelium You don't think it odd that the main celebrant of the Mass doesn't distribute Holy Communion but leaves it to others? His Excellecy was just criticized for this on another occasion not that long ago, and the critics were told they were wrong.

@yc This line of thinking is one of the greatest blights upon modern Catholicism. Would that everyone had the zeal of converts. "I came to bring fire to the earth, and how I wish it were already kindled!"

I’m always telling people Catholicism is chill because nobody *really* is into it like that (except adult converts who cannot, as we’ve seen, under any circumstances, be trusted)

When I got married and started going to my husbands parish we were the youngest couple there (30s). Now just 3 years later our church is packed with young families. This is why it’s hard to understand why our priest is being transferred 2 years into his second 6 year term.
