@areyoflight It's because they want to pour resources into private enterprises to offer voucher schemes for what contractors presume – based on earning-potential – disabled people need: prescription glasses from specific vendors, wellness bollocks dressed up as counselling, et al.

I just blocked a non-disabled person who said that because he was a taxpayer who paid for my Disability Benefit, he was entitled to some assurance about my disability. What Next? If I drown, I'm disabled If I float, I'm not?

I’m seeing even well-meaning accounts criticise disability cuts as hitting “the most vulnerable.” Reminder: disabled people are not inherently vulnerable. We are vulnerable when governments choose to withhold the resources disabled people need to live dignified and secure lives.

@CounsellingSam It's pathological (i.e., society doesn't exist) that after/continuing austerity, a disabling pandemic, an aging population, a severe rise in poverty & the financialisation of the public sphere so to erase a real-healthy economy, that the care economy has a boot on its neck.

People on benefits deserve as much as people who do paid work.

@CounsellingSam What do you mean by “deserve as much” ?? If you mean dignity then I believe that they should be treated with dignity. If you’re saying that people on benefits deserve as much as working people in terms of materialistic things then you’re dead wrong.
