@ravihanda Forget farmers. Do the same with UPSC guys - IAS/IPS/IRS etc. Each are worth 100-500 crores. Govt will mint easily 60000 - 100000 crore by annexing their illegal assets( EVERY YEAR) .

This argument about taxing farmers keeps coming up. If you actually look at the numbers, you'll realize how economically insignificant it is. The number of farmers declaring agricultural income above ₹10 lakh is somewhere around 60,000. On the other hand, the number of Indians earning more than ₹10 lakh annually is roughly 1.5 crore. Even if you taxed every farmer declaring more than ₹10 lakh of agricultural income, the impact on India's finances would be marginal. From a purely mathematical perspective, tackling black money and tax evasion is a far bigger issue than taxing declared agricultural income. If you want to make a moral argument, that's a different discussion. "Why should one group receive a special exemption when others don't?" That's a fair question but come on - lets be realistic. Tax policy has never been based purely on fairness. Government routinely uses taxation to encourage or discourage certain behaviours. NPS gets tax benefits because retirement savings are encouraged. Real estate receives various tax concessions. On the other hand, cigarettes and horse racing are taxed heavily because they want to discourage such stuff. Agricultural income exemption falls into the same category. You may agree or disagree with the policy, but the economic impact of removing it is likely much smaller than people imagine. It just doesn't make sense to tax farmers in India.

The world is going to need to understand that Indias overpopulation and lack of development is not a burden the rest of the world can take on. Human suffering is sad but we are just spreading out the suffering and destroying our nations and the future for our children. Yes all governments want them for some minor gdp growth as it has become akin to a Ponzi scheme and business owners will fight to the end to keep their scab workers but we cannot tolerate it

DINK’s are doing it wrong. Andhra Pradesh is now doing it wrong. Hope other states don’t follow. The incentive should be in the form of tax benefits - like Indonesia does it. This will encourage our best earning population to have more children.

This tragic incident in Bathinda underscores a devastating failure in basic site safety protocols that could have easily been avoided with standard precautions. Most importantly, heavy machinery like road rollers have significant blind spots, an operator should never engage in reverse maneuvers without a dedicated ground spotter to ensure the path is clear. Furthermore, the active construction zone lacked physical barricades or cordons to prevent public traffic from entering high-risk areas. By implementing strict access control, utilizing audible reverse alarms, and ensuring operators maintain constant communication with ground staff, this heartbreaking loss of life could have been prevented. Safety in work zones must be a non-negotiable priority to protect both workers and the public.

In a country where over 80 crore people still depend on government ration schemes, billionaire heiress Isha Ambani made headlines at the Met Gala with an ultra-luxury look that has sparked massive discussion online. Reports claim: • Her saree was woven with gold threads • Her blouse featured 1,800 carats of diamonds, reportedly worth ₹200 crore • Her necklace was said to be worth over ₹800 crore with 480 carats of diamonds • Even her mango-shaped purse reportedly cost ₹95 lakh The contrast between extreme wealth and everyday struggles in India is once again becoming a topic of debate on social media.

NEET Exam Scam Busted! Delhi Police caught a big gang that was cheating in the NEET exam. A doctor was the main kingpin. They trapped 18 students (including minors) and promised them MBBS seats for ₹20-30 lakh each. Students were kept in secret hotels in Delhi, away from their parents. Modus Operandi: • Lured students with fake guarantees of “sure shot” admission • Took them to hidden flats saying they would get “important questions” • Collected huge money and blank signed cheques • Gave fake question papers made from old exams • Planned to help them cheat during the exam Police rescued all students safely and arrested four main accused. Stay alert, parents and students! niftykaboss.com

I am loathe to take advice from someone who ran a country the size of a large housing colony in a Tier 2 city in India and needed press muzzling laws to do it. There are many things to admire about Lee, but he is in no position to advise on governing India, he is far from qualified to do that.

This ad by @Unilever - Comfort is completely unacceptable. Using a fish market as something “disgusting” to promote your product is not creative — it’s disrespectful. Fish is food. Millions of people depend on it for their livelihood. Fishermen, vendors, and market workers work hard every single day, and this ad reduces their environment to something shameful. People who eat fish don’t see it as “dirty” or “unbearable.” They go to these markets proudly and buy fresh food for their families. What exactly are you trying to say here? This is not just marketing — this is humiliation. You’ve insulted: Fishermen who risk their lives at sea Market workers who earn with dignity And millions of people who consume fish as a staple food If this is your idea of branding, it shows a complete lack of respect for real people and real work. Do better. Apologize. And stop portraying honest livelihoods as something inferior. #RespectFishermen #StopInsensitiveAds #ComfortAd #RespectFood

Such emotional tweets are unlikely to persuade anyone. If at all anyone returns, it will be because they were chased out and had nowhere to go to. Or they had made so much money that the downsides of being in India can be mitigated partially. India needs a moonshot. In ten years, we should build just one town, that's worth moving to. A place where things actually work, merit is rewarded, corruption is minimum and safety is high. With topclass education, healthcare and entertainment. Where children and adults are indoctrinated into following rules and where civic sense is second nature. It could be like a large gated community -one tenth the size of Dubai or Singapore. Just one town/city. 1.4 billion people. Ten years. Real results are far more convincing than endless yapping about ancient glory. Sadly it would take a lot more than just money for real change.

Open letter to Indians in America. -- Dear brothers and sisters from Bharat: Like I did 37 years ago, you arrived in America with no money but with a good education and cultural heritage from Bharat. You achieved outstanding success. America was good to us. For that we must remain grateful - gratitude is our Bharatiya way. Yet today, a significant number of Americans, may be not the majority but not too far from it either, believe that Indians "take away" American jobs and our success in America was unfairly earned. You may think the next election will fix this, but your choice would be between people who hate our Bharatiya civilisation and people who hate civilisation itself. That is the "hard right" vs "woke left" battle. You are mere bystanders to that conflict. Meanwhile there is one thing that is true now and will be true in the future: the respect Indians command world-wide will substantially depend on the fortunes of India herself. If India remains poor, the woke left will give us moral lectures with pity and the hard right, different moral lectures with scorn ("hellhole") and we must not confuse either with respect. Respect in today's world, along with prosperity and security, comes from one source: a nation's technological prowess. India produces sufficient brain power to achieve that prowess but alas we exported so much of that talent, particularly to America. As we develop that prowess in India, our civilisational strength will assert itself. As difficult as it is for many of you to contemplate this, please come back home. Bharat Mata needs your talent. Our vast youthful population needs the technology leadership you gained over the years to guide them towards prosperity. Let's do it with a missionary zeal. Respectfully Sridhar Vembu

@DrAditya2935 Govt hospitals are created for large sum of population with mediocre quality of care and services . It can function only as long it remains cheap , it remains cheap cos theres no quality . Expecting quality in a institute created to serve millions is a far ask. 🙌

Dekho bhai, if your entire argument is private is better (which it is) phir Roz ka twitter pe RR band karo ki mehnga hai. People want private level care, govt prices. My stand is - govt should provide decent care for large section and the top 10-20% should utilize private without cribbing about prices - chindi pana band karo. In this particular case - head injury time is off much more essence and when the 3rd best hospital of country is literally walking distance (500 m) but you prefer talking to a hospital 20 minutes away and stop traffic for millions - that’s what wrong with country. It tells you treat regular citizens as beneath - lower. It tells govt hospital even the best ones are a sham. VIP culture, poor infrastructure and disdain for general public.
Aditya Gupta@DrAditya2935

MAMC/LNJP is 2 minutes away. Created traffic jam for entire city to take to a private hospital. Tells everything wrong with our country.
