No matter how long I’ve been teaching … new is always a tad bit scary. But there’s always one old kid who’s funny helpful and kind to the nervous new kids. Thankful we got Rob he’s definitely that kid. I had a great training day…. Plus I scored two broken cellos for my kids.

I remember being at my desk at Frederick Douglass High and telling my kids I’d gotten another rejection letter. I had hyped them up and said when I get this mural y’all will paint with me. I used to dream out loud in class and say “One day I’m gonna be a muralist”. …and she did!
