After taking the winter off the market, Chicago's finest modern house is back on. It's a big price relative to the Chicago market at large, but someone who understands what they're buying is going to end up with an exceptional house at an exceptional price. The crappy Chicago housing market plays to your advantage. Building this house today would cost at least 2x what I'm asking for it. And that's before the cost of three contiguous lots, if you could even find them. When I built this house from scratch I thought I'd be in it for life. I certainly built it like that and spared no expense. Every detail considered, every material top notch. Brick, steel, copper, wood, plaster, and glass — simple materials that last. Loads of light, but also plenty of shadows. Privacy to the nines. Commercial construction methods, no corners cut. But after 10 years, life changed, and we find ourselves outside Chicago. So it's time for the next owner to enjoy. Full details here: zillow.com/homedetails/17…

Jamie Dimon is one of the world's most respected business leaders. Politically he is a centrist. He is pro-business and pro-free enterprise, but also supportive of well-designed social programs and rational tax policies that can help the less fortunate. He is extremely smart, thoughtful, and pragmatic, and he knows how to bring opposing parties together. He is highly respected by the Right, the Left, and the Center. Jamie is beloved by his 240,000+ employees, highly respected by our military as well as by the global political and business leaders that matter. He has superbly managed @jpmorgan through every crisis, and has built the world's best, large, global financial institution working for clients from startups and mom and pops, to global institutions and countries. Our country is at risk with $32T of debt with no end to massive deficits in sight, heading into a recession at a time of great political uncertainty. We need an exemplary business, financial, and global leader to manage through what is likely to be a critically important decade for our country in determining our destiny. Jamie Dimon is that leader. Jamie is of exemplary and unimpeachable character. He is a no bullshit, straight-talking, charismatic leader with an enormous grasp of the world's issues and how to address them. He is a great communicator that makes everyone who hears his words feel respected and inspired. He has enormous energy, vigor, and drive. He is a wonderful father, friend, husband, and son. In sum, he is the kind of person our country deserves as our next leader. And clearly he is thinking about running: finance.yahoo.com/news/dimon-hin… I can't imagine a better time for him to do so. @POTUS is extremely weak and in cognitive decline. 70% of Democrats don't want him to run. Biden's weakness sets up a large opening for a qualified outsider to run as a Democrat. Jamie can beat Biden in the primary and @realDonaldTrump in the general election, but he needs to start now and build name recognition among the broad electorate. He will easily raise billions of dollars from Democrats and Republicans to fund his campaign, and he knows how to build support. Each year, Jamie gets on a bus and travels around the country meeting with tellers, branch managers, and other employees to spread the culture and inspire the JPM team; great preparation for a presidential run. He will also be incredible on the debate stage. And there is nothing more for him to achieve at JPM. He has already been crowned the world's best banker. JPM stock will go up even more when he becomes POTUS as he can do more for the bank and our economy as President than he can as Chairman and CEO of JPM. The bank will be in great shape since he has built a deep succession bench that is more than ready to step up. There is only one better job for Jamie than CEO of JPM and that's POTUS. Jamie just needs a push from people he respects and from the broader electorate. If you agree that he should be our next POTUS, give him a call, send him an email or go see him, and like and retweet this tweet. This will be one of the most important elections in our country's history. Jamie is more likely to run if we build a groundswell of support for him. Let's do our civic duty and make it happen. Our challenges as a nation are largely due to failures of leadership. America needs and deserves great leadership and we need it now.

My mentor is a founder who you have never heard of. But he: • Built a $10B company • Acquired 12 MEGA brands • Gets home daily by 6pm • Built one of the most amazing cultures I've witnessed Here are the 6 most important lessons I learned from him: @RicElias is one of most successful + least known entrepreneurs of our generation. His company Red Ventures is the largest digital media company in the US. He’s also one of the most humble, kind hearted people I know. And an amazing mentor. Alright… 1⃣Lesson 1: You own your business, your business doesn’t own you In 2017, I was feeling stuck after many years of running Ampush. He encouraged me to use my work for personal growth + ask my team to do the same. He reminded me that as the CEO/founder I can change anything 2⃣Lesson 2: Culture is what you tolerate. No matter how hard I look, I can't find a better definition of culture. If you allow complacency, people will stop growing. If you tolerate people not knowing their numbers, they won’t know them. And If you let people be themselves, they’ll surprise you. High bar + kindness = great culture. 3⃣Lesson 3: Pursue the 3 Fer Biz leaders often debate things like profit vs growth Ric prefers to greenlight initiatives where we somehow deliver 3 wins. e.g., it has to drive growth, profit and learning Also, underwrite acquisitions with multiple paths to success 4⃣Lesson 4: People are the purpose 6 months into our partnership, Ric asked "how come you never call and share your challenges?" Me: "I'm like 2% of your business, its not worth your time" Ric: "but you are my friend and I'm here to support you" That left a HUGE impact. Side note: He has quietly funded scholarships for ~500 DACA students through his Golden Door Scholars program and built a nonprofit called Road to Hire that has trained 1700 young people to date Part of Giving Pledge, committing to giving away >50% of his wealth. Raised $5M (half his own) to help Puerto Rico after Hurricane Maria. He never forgets People are the purpose. He taught me that there is more to business than just capital, profit, and growth. 5⃣Lesson 5: Tell me how someone is paid and I’ll tell you how they’ll behave The most important behaviors are the ones people do when no one is looking. Incentives are that invisible hand driving what people do. 6⃣Lesson 6: Top down P&L targets are arbitrary, and dangerous. "Ric, we will pursue a 25% EBITDA margin this year" "Jesse, why not 35%? why not 15%? Whatever target you choose, you will take actions to land there. Instead, focus on being great at the actions, focus on being intentional. Target the actions you’ll take, accomplish, or other causal metrics instead of an end goal and you'll surpass your wildest dreams of profit margins! Those are the 6 Lessons. When it’s all said and done, I truly believe Ric and Red Ventures will have many books written about them. I'm grateful to know Ric, count him as a mentor and to have learned all these amazing lessons from him. If you enjoyed this thread, follow me! @jspujji I've bootstrapped multiple 8 figure businesses, grew Ampush to $400,000,000+ in FB spend, and now run a venture studio that has launched @unbloat, @appkahani, and @growthassistant. And follow @RicElias too! While I have your attention… 2021 I started a company to solve my own problem. As an entrepreneur, there were so many rote tasks that bogged down my team: List building, aggregating data/reporting, influencer/affiliate outreach and mgmt, basic fb/goog campaign mgmt. For only $3k per mo, we get you a college educated, full time, trained growth marketer who embeds in your team We call them a “GrowthAssistant” Since starting, scores of growth teams from companies like Calm, Doordash and Quip have got their own “GAs” If you/your team needs this type of leverage so you can focus on more strategic work, head to @GrowthAssistant join the waitlist and let them know I sent you!

I get about 10 emails a week like this now. Since when does being sent an email oblige a response. Especially ones clearly sent to 1000 people. Bizarre approach. I reply to most emails with a proportional effort to what was put into them, which typically means I don't

The entire historical total return of 10-year bonds, in excess of T-bills, has accrued when bond yields have exceeded the average of core inflation, nominal GDP growth, and T-bill yields. 95% of that average has typically been roughly the lower bound. Not a forecast. Just FYI

@hussmanjp Excellent. The following is a deeply underappreciated bit of perspective Large %-age of market is obsessed with how far we are "off the highs", & comparing w previous sell-offs, as if the apogee of the market's most recent lunacy holds some control over ultimate valuations

I just finished a #PPC audit w/ this issue & I don't think this can be overstated. A Poor PPC account will occasionally get conversions w/ a good website. A Great PPC account can fail w/ a poor website. Make your site user/conversion friendly before you spend money on marketing
