My boyfriend and I are planning to buy a house together after dating for 3 years. He earns significantly more than I do, so he’d be contributing about 70% of the down payment. Because of that, he wants the house to be only in his name. He says it’s just “fair” based on the numbers, but we’d both be living there, splitting bills, and building a life together. I’ve been watching a lot of relationship content about equity vs equality, and it made me realize things don’t always have to be 50/50 but this feels like I’d have no security at all. He said if we ever broke up, he’d “do the right thing,” but that doesn’t really reassure me. My friends say don’t move in unless my name is on it. His friends apparently think I’m being entitled. Now I feel stuck between trusting him and protecting myself. Is this a red flag I’m trying too hard to rationalize?

The USA has MORE stabbing deaths per capita than the EU. AND the US has FAR MORE gun deaths. Giving folks MORE murder options is a bad idea.

Living in Louisiana means that starting in March our temperatures can easily be hanging in the 80 degree plus range daily. Please don’t leave your kids in a car for even a moment. The danger of someone snatching the kids and the HEAT are real! What appears to be 3 children left in an unattended vehicle for at least an hour turns out to be even worse than expected. Would you have called the police and waited or would you have gotten the kids out of the car one way or another?

The hotel gaslit her, with management denying the CCTV backed her story despite their own WhatsApp messages saying the opposite. Her husband posted a TripAdvisor review calling the hotel "unsafe for women." The hotel got it pulled, then a hotel employee filed a defamation complaint against him under Qatar's cybercrime laws. Nearly a year later, when he returned to Qatar for work, he was detained, informed he'd been tried in absentia and fined, and then held for four nights in a deportation centre. The deportation order lasts five years, which severely hurts his career as a Middle East healthcare consultant. In other words, Marriott International, an American company, used Qatari law to silence a complaint about a woman being sexually harassed at their property.

@iam_preethi @ZNursinga I was prepared for the pain when baby nr 2 was born, and was very surprised to discover it didn’t hurt at all. With baby 1, I gave up on clothes by day 3 and just sat around topless in my hospital room with my raw nipples.

This is so true and nobody talks about it honestly. Breastfeeding hurts in the first two weeks for most women, even with a perfect latch. Your nipples are not used to that level of friction and suction and they need time to toughen up. I have heard moms with 4+ kids say it still hurts at the beginning with every single baby and then goes away. The standard advice that "breastfeeding should never hurt if the latch is correct" makes women think something is wrong when the pain is actually a normal part of the adjustment. Yes, a bad latch can cause pain. But so can a brand new nipple being used 10+ times a day for the first time. Those are two very different things and they get lumped together in a way that confuses new moms and sometimes causes them to give up early. It gets better. Usually by week 2 or 3 the pain fades. Push through those first couple weeks if you can.
