The Leafs Effect:
Rogers paid $5.2 billion for their NHL TV deal, but without the Leafs, are unable to get a single Canadian team playing on prime time Saturday tonight, or next week.
@wpgtiger@Takhar77 I was talking about teams currently in the playoffs, I know Winnipeg, Calgary and Vancouver fans will still watch. The point was it doesn't matter when those 3 teams play, they will still get huge ratings.
@Rob83871601 Why is a supposed Canadian News Agency, all for the separation of Canada?? Oh that's right they are not a news agency, they are just grifters and losers, and they like to exploit the less fortunate and uneducated. They are terrible people!!
@brrain@Takhar77 Hey mr facts matter. Do you have any proof to back up this claim? Im a leafs fan tuned into the playoffs today. I also watch junior hockey. Do facts still matter?
@Adam45715058@Takhar77 You do know playing hockey and cheering hockey are two different things right?? McGill used to offer a course dedicated named 'The Religion of the Montreal Canadiens'
@brrain@Takhar77 If Montreal has soooo many diehard fans, why couldn’t your city (province in entirety actually) produce 1 fucking Olympian for the Men’s team? Lmfao
@Takhar77@GamblingAvenge1 According to AI Sunday afternoon and Prime time games Average the most ratings for NHL playoffs at around 2 Million viewers however the highest game rated game in over a decade for a round 1 game was the Leafs vs Bruins on a Saturday night at 3.22 million viewers.
@brrain Yeah just the most knowledgeable hockey market in the league, with the national broadcaster here, the Hall of Fame here, and the biggest television audience here.
Not hockey fans though 💀
Spot on, moron.😂
@brrain@Takhar77 Hey, long-suffering Leaf fan here. I’m actually more excited to watch Rd. 1 without my idiot team involved. Just get to enjoy the best hockey of the year without sweating wins or losses. Think you’ve missed the mark on this take.
@Takhar77 They are not hockey fans is my point!! Leafs fans are not going to watch hockey tonight. Hockey fans of other teams in Canada will. So they don't have a need to put a Canadian team in action. The ratings will be the same.
#HabsPlayoffThrowback: On May 10 2010, Mike Cammalleri scores early 1st to send the Bell Centre into a frenzy in Game 6 of the series against the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Is it crazy to say this is a Mount Rushmore RJ call?
This is how you freaking NAIL a moment. Perfection.
He didn’t just describe a moment, he *added* to it. That’s how I view the essence of elite play by play.
