They did get good talent from trading some of their not so elite first round players tho.

The Flyers sold their soul to become a playoff team. They structured the non-rebuild to make this happen as quickly as possible. Making the playoffs this year is their ultimate Stanley Cup.

Svechnikov is a complimentary piece they were trying to trade.the entirety of that roster has been assembled outside drafting top 10.
