1/ When we started @firstround in 2004, I didn't know what institutional investors did. Heck, I barely knew what venture capitalists did. First Round Capital's first fund was $7M. Then in July of 2007 I got this cold email from @nshalek who was then at the @Yale Investments office. After getting to know the Yale team, they decided to anchor our first institutional venture fund. And I quickly learned what institutional investors did ;-)

Christianity will not perish. Its founder noted that his followers would be mocked, attacked, and reviled. After His execution it spread. After the first believers were persecuted, it spread. When Rome tried to stamp it out through fear and slaughter, the faith conquered Rome itself. Christians should be vocal about their faith. But we should note fear. Our hope is assured. It’s noteworthy that Jesus’ revolutionary message of hope, faith, and love is still so powerful 2,000 years later that it is constantly attacked. It’s incumbent upon Christians to stand firm in truth but to simultaneously love and pray for our enemies.

Despite the industry reputation, I don't actually see a lot of VC sharks actively re-pricing rounds. One would think in a correction that would happen (or maybe the correction was too short lived!) but perhaps they just don't exist. Maybe investors would just rather start fresh than invest in an existing company?
